Webcast

The Con committee worked with the Henson company to set up live webcast chats with the cast and crew of Farscape (they are the best, aren't they?).

In addition to the sessions pictured below, there were chats with Kent McCord, Lani Tupu, Wayne Pygram, and Brian Henson.

Rockne

Rockne promised the fans that the rest of the season would blow us fans away. Always leave your audience riveted.

Claudia Black

Claudia talked about the day she auditioned for Farscape, her career, and her favorite food served as part of the show. It seems that the prop designers have given her a variety of Erp foods disguised as dishes of the Unknown Territories, but she likes tapioca pudding the best.

Claudia says that she and Ben Browder were able to work well together from the very start. She almost didn't get a chance to audition, as the show initially looked outside of Australia to cast the character of Aeryn Sun. Fortunately for all the fans, she immediately clicked when the opportunity to try out arrived.

A couple of the questions directed at Claudia concerned the ongoing mysteries in aHR. She would not confirm what happened after the kiss -- "It's whatever you want it to be" -- but did explain what she thought her character said to Ben's father. Simply, Claudia thinks Aeryn said "thank you", thank you for not betraying their location and thank you for helping. Claudia also demonstrated, live, that the Sebacean speech she used in aHR was her own.

Claudia knows about and appreciates the efforts of all her fans to help her standing at the freevote (still on top at the time of this writing).

Ben Browder and Claudia Black

No, that's not a tribble on Ben's face; he has a beard now. Ben and Claudia answered a lot of questions together. Here are some of the highlights:

• That really was Mrs. Browder getting tossed over Ben's shoulder in the second part of LATP. Francesca insisted.
• Ben has been so long without Crisco that he doesn't think he can make biscuits properly anymore.
• Ben now knows what "droolthud" means -- two appreciative fans demonstrated live on camera.
• "Won't Get Fooled Again", coming up in two weeks at the time of this writing, is one the episodes that Ben is proudest of. Like Rockne, Ben promised it would blow the fans away.
• Truthseekr demonstated her "Jeremiah Crichton" costume complete with spear and face-tribble. Ben demonstrated the original model with a real beard this time.
• The scene that Ben and Claudia most hope to do was briefly enacted live on camera. It wasn't nekkid, but it certainly was Twister ...

Ben and Claudia are Shippers!

Anthony Simcoe

Anth immediately got the crowd going; he has a great webcast presence. He set the tone right from the start by saying that he wanted to go to ScaperCon, and that doing the webcast was his top priority this day. The highlights of the discussion included:

• A dance routine to BadMagumbo's filk in his honor, "Born to be D'Argo". Anth wants to buy BadMagumbo a drink.
• Checking to verify the answer to the always-pressing question, "boxers or briefs". Anth claimed commando.
• Turning the couch completely over when one female fan approached the camera for close-up appreciation.
• TalynX asked what the worst thing is that Anth would do to Rygel. Anth's answers? He grabbed Rygel at the end of the day, and locked him away so the puppeteers couldn't find him. (Anth briefly descended into mania and screamed plans to do away with Browder, Black, Hey ...)
• An impromptu performance in his character voice -- which was difficult, as he hadn't used D'Argo's voice for a couple of months.
• Anth thinks it's a fantastic part of his career to be an alien, and to work with the puppets portraying aliens.

Unfortunately, this chronicler had to leave before the rest of the webcast chats (dirty word, Dirty Word, DIRTY WORD!). Hopefully some more fortunate Scaper will step forward with additional information ...
